Terms of Use

Last updated September 2026

1. Who we are

Belter is provided by Thryve Apps Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. These terms govern your use of the Belter app.

By using Belter you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the app.

2. What Belter does

Belter connects to a compatible treadmill over Bluetooth. It can start and stop the belt, change its speed and incline, and record your workouts on your device.

Belter is a convenience layer for a machine you already own. It is not a safety system, it is not a medical device, and it is not fitness or medical advice.

3. Safe use

You must follow the safety instructions supplied with your treadmill. Where anything in Belter conflicts with them, the manufacturer’s instructions take precedence.

You must use the treadmill’s safety key whenever the belt is running. The safety key and the treadmill’s own stop control are the means of stopping the machine in an emergency. Belter’s stop button is a convenience and must not be relied upon as an emergency stop.

Bluetooth connections can drop, and phone apps can be interrupted or stop responding. Belter attempts to stop the belt if it loses contact with the treadmill during a workout, but it cannot guarantee that it will succeed. Do not use Belter in any way that depends on it responding.

Do not leave a connected treadmill running unattended. Keep children and animals clear of the machine.

If you have any health concerns, consult a doctor before using a treadmill.

4. No affiliation with the manufacturer

Belter is an independent app. It is not made by, endorsed by, or supported by DeerRun, PitPat, or any treadmill manufacturer or their associated companies, and none of them has any say in what it does.

We take part in affiliate programmes run by treadmill retailers, including DeerRun. That means that if you follow a shop link on our website and buy something, we are paid a commission by the retailer. There are no such links in the app itself, it costs you nothing, and it buys nobody any influence over the app or over what we say about their machines. Links on our website that earn us a commission are labelled as such where they appear.

Any trade marks referred to belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.

Using Belter with your treadmill may not be contemplated by that treadmill’s own warranty or terms. Whether to use it is your decision.

5. Your data

Everything Belter records stays on your device. We do not operate a server, we do not have accounts, and your workout data is never sent to us.

You can export your own data at any time, free of charge, and deleting the app deletes the data with it.

Our privacy policy is at https://belter-app.com/privacy.

6. Purchases

Belter is free to download and free to use with one profile. Belter Everything is a single, one-time purchase that adds profiles for the rest of your household and unlocks the app’s other features. There is no subscription.

Purchases are made through the App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.

If we raise the price later, anyone who has already purchased keeps everything they bought, permanently.

7. Availability

We may update Belter, and features may change over time. We do not promise that the app will be available uninterrupted, or that it will remain compatible with any particular treadmill, since we do not control the treadmill’s firmware.

8. Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, for loss arising from your failure to follow the treadmill manufacturer’s safety instructions, or for business losses, since Belter is supplied for domestic and private use.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If you would like to know more about your rights, contact your local Citizens Advice or Trading Standards office.

9. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for using the treadmill safely, for keeping it maintained according to its manufacturer’s instructions, and for deciding whether exercise is appropriate for you.

Do not use Belter to control a treadmill that somebody else is standing on unless they know you are doing it and have agreed.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own country.
